Why I’m Not Making Venus in Pisces Materia in 2024

Venus is finally in Pisces, a transit that many of us have been eagerly waiting for! In the sign of her exaltation, Venus is usually in her prime to create beautiful talismans, amulet and other magical pieces. So, why I am not making Venus in Pisces materia this year?

After all, not only is Venus exalted in Pisces, but this year she’s also exchanged signs with Jupiter in Taurus (they are in each other’s sign, after all, which technically makes Venus’ passage through Pisces even better!). So what’s the matter?

I thought I could use my answer to this great question as a pedagogic insight, and to give you a glimpse of what my work is like as an astromagic practitioner, how magic works and the conditions in which I create exquisite offerings.

As a reminder, astrological magic and the making of talismans works on the principle that an object is crafted and ensouled via ritual at a specifically chosen time which reunites several factors. These factors aim to capture and emphasise the most dignified, pure and essential celestial spirit. For instance, when we make Venus talismans, Venus has to be dignified by sign (usually Libra, Taurus or Pisces), made during Venus planetary hour, Venus has to be either rising on the horizon or culminating in the sky… And these are just a few of the factors involved!

The reason for this is that talismans and magically ensouled objects are extremely potent (just have a look at the product reviews!). The magician is operating with higher powers who are extremely swift in their effects and can have a long-lasting impact on the practitioner’s life, and on the things created. As your resident astromage, it’s my job to ensure that you only get the most benevolent, constructive and helpful incarnations of those spirits. Extensive planning, divination and spiritual work are done ahead of every collection to ensure their potency and benevolence. As a result, all of my choices are made in accordance with my spiritual team, so as to put the well-being of the dear recipients of my magic to the forefront.

Which leads us to Venus in Pisces, in 2024 — and every otherwise auspicious Venus transit this year! While transiting Pisces, Venus will apply to conjoin Saturn, resulting in their ultimate conjunction on March 22. This is not something I consider auspicious and worthy of creating a forever keepsake companion under — don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this transit *in and of itself* (in the context of a birth chart, for example). But this is astrological magic, and the conjunction of any planet to a malefic (Mars or Saturn) isn’t desirable, and could have unintended Saturnine effects on Venus’ expression through a talisman (sorrow or difficulties in love, loss of money) — as a talisman amplifies the qualities of a highly dignified planet. On top of this, even after Venus separates from Saturn, the Moon (our other important signifier for creating talismans!) isn’t in great shape either, as we will in fact be at this point right in the middle of eclipse season (an event which isn’t particularly great from either light, the Moon or the Sun!).

A talisman normally requires anywhere between 5 to 15 factors for creation — this goes to show that even a *single* one not being present or being inauspicious (presence of a malefic planet, too close to the Sun, the Moon not making the right aspect…) can make the creation of a talisman (or talismanic productions, like oils, body butters etc., which rely on the same principles) impossible. In 2024, Venus will either be too close to a malefic planet (Saturn in Pisces, South Node in Libra) or too close to the Sun (in Taurus), which will hinder any talismanic ritual. It doesn’t mean you can’t do anything magical or devotional around Venus (doing a weekly ritual on Friday, using talismanic objects created before, etc. are all fine), but creating new talismanic offerings under these conditions is unfortunately difficult!

I hope this brings some clarity around the talisman-making process, and has hopefully opened a window into the world of astromagic! If you would like to experience the benefits of Venus at the height of her beneficience, is it still entirely possible!

The Venus in Taurus and Venus in Cancer collections I created back in 2023 feature the most auspicious and rare conditions for Venus magic, and have already conquered the hearts of many, many clients — making it a best-seller! Venus talismanic products in all their iterations bring love, pleasure, profit, attraction and charm to their wearer, some irresistible Venusian glamour which is much needed as we head into this eclipse season. You can have a look at our offerings below! I hope you enjoyed this read, and I wish you a lovely Venus in Pisces transit!
